We left everything behind — and built something beautiful.
It has been over 26 years since we arrived in America from a war-torn Afghanistan, leaving everything behind with nothing but the clothes on our backs. We are the first generation of our family to call America home — and that means everything to us.
Family behind The Corner Kitchen
We were the first Afghan restaurant on wheels in Lincoln — bringing authentic Afghan flavors to this community for the very first time. Our family food truck has been a labor of love. Six years ago — just three months into the pandemic — we opened our doors, and the Lincoln community showed up with open arms. Your generosity and support carried us through the hardest season imaginable, and we have never forgotten it.

At the heart of everything is our mother. She loves to cook, and she is overjoyed to share her family recipes with every person who visits our truck. Leaving her homeland was the hardest thing she has ever done — but being able to share the memories of Afghanistan through her cooking is her love language. Every dish she prepares carries a piece of home.
